Berlin Festival 2010

The Berlin Festival proves just what a great venue the former Tempelhof airport is for all kinds of major events. The rock music festival takes place for the second time at the disused airport building and presents once more for two days first-class rock concerts in the old hangar and at open-air stages. Until now, fourteen acts are known to perform, among them Peaches, Adam Green, Fever Ray and Caribou. This year, the Berlin Festival is part of the Berlin Music Week.

The inline skater marathon and the Bambini Run for children are held on Saturday, runners start on the same course on Sunday.

German Unification Day

Germany is celebrating the 20th anniversary of German Reunification with a major city festival. The festival mile includes a live music and entertainment programme around the Brandenburg Gate, with an array of stalls offering snacks, food and drink. The official programme will be released at the end of July.

The abc art berlin contemporary festival's concept features exhibitions as well as gallery events. This year's motto is "light camera action" and the focus is on aspects of filming and performing. The exhibition mainly takes place at the Marshall House - directly attached to the international art fair art forum berlin that takes place at the same time. In the evenings, the theatre Hebbel am Ufer, HAU 2, showcases films and performances.
